Privacy Policy
Pure Vyb is operated by Toronto Warez Inc. in Ontario, Canada, and is used by people around the world. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and — for users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland — the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR. This policy explains, in plain terms, what we collect and what we do not.
For the purposes of the GDPR, Toronto Warez Inc. is the data controller for the information described below.
What we never collect
- Your video and audio. Calls travel directly between participants' devices (peer-to-peer). We do not record them, store them, or listen in.
- Your real name, address, or date of birth. We ask only for a first name, which may be a nickname.
- Your email address or phone number. There is no account and no password.
- Payment information. The Service is free.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers. There are no third-party advertising or tracking scripts on this site.
What we do collect
- The details you enter: first name, age, and gender.
- A device identifier (a "fingerprint") derived from your browser. We use this solely to enforce suspensions and bans so that removed users cannot immediately return.
- Your consent record: the fact that you confirmed you are 18 or older, the version of the Terms you accepted, the time you accepted, and your browser's user-agent string. We keep this as proof of consent.
- Safety records: if you report someone, or are reported, we store the reason, the time, and the device identifiers involved.
- Text chat messages are relayed through our server so that our safety filter can screen them. Messages are not written to our database; blocked messages are counted, not stored.
- Access code usage counts — a number only, not linked to individuals.
Why we collect it
Solely to operate the Service and keep users safe: to match you with someone, to enforce the 18+ requirement, to act on reports, and to prevent banned users from returning. We do not use your information for profiling, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to running the Service.
Legal basis (EEA / UK users)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent — for the details you enter and your confirmation of age, which you provide deliberately by ticking the consent box before joining. You may withdraw consent at any time by ceasing to use the Service and requesting deletion.
- Legitimate interests — for the device identifier, safety records, and text-message screening. Our legitimate interest is protecting users from harassment, sexual content, scams, and banned users returning. We have balanced this against your privacy by collecting the minimum necessary and never using it for any other purpose.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information to comply with the law.
How long we keep it
Profile details and consent records are retained while your access remains active and for a reasonable period afterwards. Records relating to reports, suspensions, and bans are retained for as long as necessary to keep the community safe. You may request deletion at any time (see below).
Where your information is stored (international transfers)
Our servers and database are located in Canada. If you use the Service from outside Canada, your information is transferred to and stored in Canada. Canada has been recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection for commercial organisations subject to PIPEDA, which permits transfers from the EEA. Relay servers used to carry call traffic when a direct connection fails may be located in other countries; that traffic remains encrypted end to end and its content is not accessible to the relay operator or to us.
Who we share it with
No one, except: (a) our hosting provider, which stores the database on our behalf; (b) a relay service that may carry encrypted call traffic when a direct connection cannot be established — it carries the stream but the content remains encrypted end to end; and (c) law enforcement where we are legally required to respond, or where there is a credible risk to a person's safety, including any suspected exploitation of a minor.
Cookies and local storage
We use no advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser stores a session token only while you are logged in to the admin panel (administrators only).
Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. If the GDPR applies to you, you additionally have the right to restrict or object to our processing, the right to data portability, and the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Note that our automated safety systems can suspend access pending review — a human being (the operator) makes the final decision on every ban, and you may contact us to contest one.
Because we do not collect email addresses, we may need details from you (such as the first name, age, and approximate date you used the Service) in order to locate your records. Contact us at the address below; we aim to respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada; in the EEA, your national data protection authority; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Children
The Service is strictly for adults: 18 or over, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone below that age. If we learn that a minor has used the Service, we delete their records and block their access.
Changes
If this policy changes, the version identifier above will change.
